Tri-Wing Design Components

Frame:
Each member of our technical, sales and engineering team apply areas of expertise to their task. Our professional welding department adds the strength where torsion and twisting may occur. The frames are assembled in precision made jigs and mig welded by highly skilled tradesmen. All TRI-WING frames are made of heavy gauge tubular steel. The TRI-WING frame bolts directly to the existing Gold Wing or Venture frame.

Differential:
TRI-WING uses Ford 7 1/2” integral rear ends. These differentials are custom made at our shop. The housings are stripped,cut and precision machined to individual lengths. Every housing is sand blasted and then hydro blasted to prepare it for the machining. The gear ratios vary and are based upon the make and model that you order. If you prefer a different gear set you can request that we change it for you. We realize that all situations differ depending upon load factor, trailer towing etc. The next step is where a licensed Ford mechanic assembles the retrofitted differential with D.O.T. approved. All new Axle Seals, Pinion Seal, Axle Wheel Bearings, Brake components and new Brake hardware kits and Brake shoes. The TRI-WING steel braided brake line assembly has been attached to the differential which attaches to your existing motorcycle's brake system.

Fiberglass:
The original amazing TRI-WING is built to outlast all of us. TRI-WING fibreglass components are individually manufactured in a carefully controlled process by professionals with over 20 years of experience. We adhere to the highest industry standards ensuring quality fibreglass to resin ratios. All our bodies are hand laid for incredible strength and finish.
The base product determines the finished product.

Drive Shaft:
All of our Tri-Wings incorporate a straight line drive shaft that eliminates the usual vibrations caused by offset connections to the rear end that may occur in other trikes on the market. There is no rationalization for you to purchase or replace your drive shaft for another modified unit when the original shaft will adequately perform in a three wheel configuration. Our experience has proven this point without exception.

Brake System:
We incorporate the world renown Ford D.O.T. approved 9 1/2” brake drum system. All new components include new spring assemblies and related hardware, brake shoes, brake drums, cylinders and fittings. Our hydraulic delivery system utilizes D.O.T. approved steel hard line that is complimented by flexible race performance steel braided outer with Teflon inner cores.
The TRI-WING high pressure swivel brake fittings are second to none in the automotive industry. Our hydraulic delivery system is pre-installed at our factory and easily connects inline to your existing brake line.

Stability:
Quick, stable and responsive, the amazing TRI-WING meets the three wheel motorcycle road endurance requirements. It offers traditional proven control at low and high speeds.
The TRI-WING’S low center of gravity combined with the factory profile of the original two wheel configuration compliments all riders regardless of size or age.

Suspension:
The suspension depends upon the bike, the V-Star and Royal Stars all utilize the original shock, and we have complimented this shock with two superior air bag shocks. The TRI-WING Honda models utilize your existing 2 wheel configured suspension system. The original air or spring loaded shocks are placed on each differential tube and are affixed inline to the upper frame and lower differential on adjustable mounting brackets. index...

Axles:
We do not cut and weld axles. They are precision machined and cold re-splined to original factory specifications. 4

Exhaust System:
Modification of your existing exhaust system is required on the retro fitting of our TRI-WING kit to your existing motorcycle. In the "majority" of models available, the recommended modification is the extension of your rear tailpipe from the muffler resonator’s body assembly. This procedure allows the exhaust emissions to be directed behind rather than under the TRIWING body. This process will not affect the integrity of the original manifold/exhaust system.

Tires and Wheels:
Tires and wheels are not included due to excess freight costs incurred by the consumer.
TRI-WING Tires and Wheels. Upon ordering your kit we will advise you which sizes of tires and wheels we recommend for your specific application.

Installation Time:
Conversion time will vary between kits and with each individual. An installed kit adds less than 200 lbs to the original weight of the bike.
